Silent Stories

People were queued in a line that barely meets the textbook definition of the word. The supermarket was full of people, apparently lost, looking for things to buy. Some of them were asking their fellow shoppers if things they wanted to buy is found in their trolley. The barcode reader was making the sound which was becoming irritating as its frequency was showing no sign of subsiding. James was waiting in the queue of counter no.1 and was counting the number of people in front of him since fifteen minutes. He was losing patience because of time taken to scan numerous items and then delay by customers to make payment.
“Cash is nothing less than anachronism in today’s world. Why can’t people use cards instead of wasting their time counting cash before making the payment?”, James mumbled.
