The creature seems to disappear, yet it absence
sometimes elicit chill to our spine, making us
spineless, helpless and hapless. It appears
without warning, for it enjoys the element of surprise.
It chases it prey inexorably, sometimes giving the hiatus
period only to chase us for longer distance. We are too afraid
to turn our heads, too busy to stop for a moment to see
what exactly is chasing us. We find a wall to hide behind it and feel
like living in the fortress. Not for long. We are hounded again
and the moment we hear its roar, the game of cat and mouse starts again.
Only if we stand up for ourselves and turn around to meet the eyes of
that creature, the situation might change for better. Maybe we will be
like routed army in a war, but the courage we gain is worth it. That
creature won’t stop hunting us, it would kill us every single day until we
face it head on. That fearsome creature is fear which resides within us.
Face it before it paralyses us time and again, for that ferocious
creature derives its nutrients from us.
